Film Making Masterclasses

28 Tulip Street Black Rock 3193

Film Making Masterclasses are tried and tested half day and whole day workshops in film making for senior primary and secondary school students.  Equally, they are aimed at giving teachers the confidence to initiate a film making program and assess their student's work. Film Making Masterclasses are conducted by Michael Lawton who has made more than 1000 films with primary, secondary and university students over the past 30 years.

Teachers and students alike will be shown a unique strategy to get them making narrative films that look like those we see on TV.  All sessions will involve practical demonstrations,  incorporating numerous basic production techniques. Students will observe the production process on a large TV during the course of the workshops. This will allow them to follow the thought process of the director as a scene evolves.

Michael will talk you through each shot as a variety of short scenes are developed within the workshop. We guarantee that you and your students will be left feeling empowered, confident and  motivated to get started on a film project. We can work with iPads, video cameras or whatever devices you school chooses to use.

Additional workshops can be conducted in Video Editing and DVD Authoring if required. Each school will receive a resource book with further skill building activities, tips and story ideas.

Minimum numbers apply. Book early! We have a limited number of days available.
